The concept of a Ring Hook has been taken several steps further here in this design for a Pegboard-Mount rack to carry plastic canisters. Sometimes you just gotta have a Metal Plate Label Holder and there is only one place to put it. In this case a Shark’s Fin configuration was just that, the one, the only, the best place. This way the label. like the hook and its merchandise, can invade the aisle and face both up- and downstream. This store’s furnishings included a little bit of everything … wall hung wood pallets, bottomed and bottomless wood crates as shadowboxes, cast iron pipe fittings as faceouts, and even eye hooks and eye lags. Wing-Nutted Perpendicular Arm

A creative, minimalist solution to mounting an arm to Gondola Upright. Don’t waste material and thread a rod, thread flat stock instead. I suggest a T-shape clamps against the inside of the Upright tube. Spin on a Wing Nut and you’re done. Careful though, this was marked as patented. 90º Strip Hooks Back-to-Back

A bit odd looking in application, this plastic merchandising strip features back-to-back 90º Tip Back-Labeled Flatback Display Hooks. The standard Pegboard Backplate causes the Frontwire to cant downward because the Strip wall is thin. But the 90º Tip saves the day and keeps the merchandise in place. A solution that uses standard components, but my OCD would demand a Backplate toleranced for the thinner plastic and level Frontwire presentation. But then, I am certifiably odd. Admittedly the extra precision would not be worth the extra cost. CLICK through the gallery to see at various focuses.

Make-Your-Own Pegboard Shelving

Though not directed at retail, these hints at how to construct a Do-It-Yourself Pegboard Shelf just might come in handy one day. Literally you can make anything into Pegboard Mount. Using standard threaded 90º L-Hooks, you could mount (and dismount) almost custom shelves and all manner of item. Best hint of all is the slight Chamfer suggested for the back. Sometimes taking a fresh look at display needs yields a new solution. A number of these Pegboard Components by Loris & Livia offer just that new perspective. Though more suited to visual merchandising and home decorating uses, one hints at the creativity that could be brought to simple Peg Hooks for mass merchandising, if only we could entice the makeover. Dog-Bone Design Ring Hooks

Unusual Packaging calls for unusual merchandising fixtures. A take off on Ring Hooks merchandises these conical Popcorn packages perfectly. And since the packs are too pointy to stand, something had to be done. The staggered 3-item-deep arrangement was created by alternating Ring and Dog Bone Wireforms. Ingenious. But I wonder if closer packing of the Dog Bones could have created more of a true honeycomb, eliminating the need for the extra interstitial Ring Hooks? Recently I waxed poetic about the packaging, metal hang tab, and on-box QR code of OtterBox. Here is an upscale Griffin package sporting solid plastic Hang Tab as differentiation. So who is playing catch-up in the iDevice case wars? One commonality to fixturinbg is this display too is lightly stocked and employs Shams and Inventory Control Clips to maintain forward facing. T-shirts are not the only merchandise to offers graphics and challenging messages as a means of promoting sales. Here BBQ aprons nip at the merchandising heels of the T-shirt crowd. As an advertising copywriter I am particularly impressed with the creatively claimed benefit of “Self Adjustable” for what otherwise might be considered simple, behind-the-back apron ties. Canted Wire Tray for Pegboard

Wire is an economical material for custom shapes and for creating fixtures with little tool and die=making cost. You can easily size and angle a fixture until it is just right for your product display. In this case I don’t know the merchandise but see that the display is ready to receive it … or maybe helped sell it already. A Metal Plat Label Holder is canted at the same angle as the tray for immediate label visibility. See that a simple kickstand arrangement forms the bottom leg of the structure. Fore-and-Aft Flanged Grid Hook

Backplate bottom tabs fore and aft of the grid wire make this Grid Hook unusual in construction. It was more difficult to remove than standard Grid Hooks. But this might be desirable in applications like unwieldy Utility and Broom Hooks, which was where it was found.

Part of a concept for a store named “Haberdash” by design firm “Form Us With Love” with coverage by Dezeen, the relationship of fixture scale to merchandise is particularly pleasing. Oversize Wrap-back for J-Hook

Not a common solution for gift cards, this. But here it has some rationale. Saddle Mount Hooks allow infinite horizontal adjustment of spacing, but work well only if a bit of weight, as in heavy masses of gift cards, are hung. Otherwise, lightly loaded, they can jostle out of position. And if the plan is for masses of merchandise on each hook, J-hooks are among the best for insuring they stay on the fixture and are not, in turn, jostled off the end. So again, maybe not a common solution, but one that works here. Visit a Kohl’s for more J-Hookery. If recollection serves me, they are specialists in this hook design. In a Kohl’s you can’t throw a stick without hitting a J-hook.

Here common Pegboard is celebrated as a display surface in Visual Merchandising that would normally shun it. It looks quite good however, and carries its fair share of the responsibility as the backdrop for presenting apparel. The approach was used in-store and storefront with ordinary All Wire Single Prong Display Hooks as well as with vintage knobs or spools as recycled Finials.

Primitive C-Channel Simplifies

Is this a cost- and material-saving simplification, or primitive step in the evolution of C-Channel label holders? It does seem elemental, deconstructionist and minimalist in configuration. But this Hinged Loop Hook Strip Merchandiser was discovered in Gift Card use at an advanced electronics and appliance retailer. Unlikely that it is left over from some early epoch in merchandising.
