Dog Bone Configuration Ring Hooks

Popcorn Ring Hooks Main

Unusual Packaging calls for unusual merchandising fixtures. A take off on Ring Hooks merchandises these conical Popcorn packages perfectly. And since the packs are too pointy to stand, something had to be done. The staggered 3-item-deep arrangement was created by alternating Ring and Dog Bone Wireforms. Ingenious. But I wonder if closer packing of the Dog Bones could have created more of a true honeycomb, eliminating the need for the extra interstitial Ring Hooks? BBQ Apron Graphics Bite Me Main

BBQ Apron Graphics Main Captain Cook AuxT-shirts are not the only merchandise to offers graphics and challenging messages as a means of promoting sales. Here BBQ aprons nip at the merchandising heels of the T-shirt crowd. As an advertising copywriter I am particularly impressed with the creatively claimed benefit of “Self Adjustable” for what otherwise might be considered simple, behind-the-back apron ties. Fixtures are Straight-Cut Flatback Single Prong Display Hooks for Grid. The large surface area of the aprons minimizes any “sight leak” on the open Grid display surface.

Oversize Wrap-back for J-Hook

Not a common solution for gift cards, this. But here it has some rationale. Saddle Mount Hooks allow infinite horizontal adjustment of spacing, but work well only if a bit of weight, as in heavy masses of gift cards, are hung. Otherwise, lightly loaded, they can jostle out of position. And if the plan is for masses of merchandise on each hook, J-hooks are among the best for insuring they stay on the fixture and are not, in turn, jostled off the end. So again, maybe not a common solution, but one that works here. Visit a Kohl’s for more J-Hookery. If recollection serves me, they are specialists in this hook design. In a Kohl’s you can’t throw a stick without hitting a J-hook.

Plaid on Pegboard Main

Here common Pegboard is celebrated as a display surface in Visual Merchandising that would normally shun it. It looks quite good however, and carries its fair share of the responsibility as the backdrop for presenting apparel. The approach was used in-store and storefront with ordinary All Wire Single Prong Display Hooks as well as with vintage knobs or spools as recycled Finials.

Triple-Wire, Dual-Role Loop Hook

Super Duty Bar Hook Main + Detail

Three frontwires of two different gauges, a welded rear cross pin, and rear bar grabs make this one of the most stalwart Bar Hook designs I have seen. The outer frontwires are in Loop configuration, creating a safely rounded nose. But the product dislayed is very light, and these Super-Duty Hooks outfit only the top bar at about waist height. Lower rows of hooks are  slightly more threatening heavy-duty Straight-Cut Single Prong Hooks. I suggest these rounded Super-Duty Hooks have a dual function keeping shoppers and playful kids a bit further from harm. They just might be an additional line of safety defense, as well as capable of heavier loads when needed. CLICK the gallery below for all views of this application.

Bird Perch Hook Upgrade is Free

Pie Birds? What are they? I gather that you place them in the center of a pie, and they allow the steam to escape during baking. No need to poke holes and slits through the top crust. Ball-end Tips are an easy no-extra-cost upgrade to straight-cut wire hooks at better manufacturers. Flip Flop Straight-Entry Benefit

My interest is in the fixturing not the Point-of-Purchase signage. These are One-piece Flatback Single Prong Slatwire Display Hooks. The large flat Baclplates improve stability, but surely also makes assembling and aligning the display more difficult. One wonders whether an Attached Back or other Straight Entry Hook might speed setup for these Flip Flops and other similar displays? J-Hook Endcap Fit-out

A Flatback butt-welded J-Hook for pegboard is the perfect solution for this Endcap application. Its flatback provides stability and protects the display surface. The short length minimizes intrusion into the traffic aisle while the J-Hook shape is self-guarding and provides maximum safety.  This is surely a case where the simplest, least-cost solution is the best solution.

Twist-Lock Butterfly Hook Main Composit

It you planned to use Slotwall anyway, why not a hook that takes advantage of the Slot for insertion? This clear plastic fixtures does just that. Position the Butterfly Hook sideways to insert the backplate tabs into the Slotwall slot, then rotate 90º to level working orientation. A tightly-toleranced friction fit anchors the hook in place, meaning this hook will not fit just any Slotwall of any thickness.  CLICK through the array of in-use and closeup shots to ponder the new solution.

With a thread documenting scarves and scarf fixturing, I could not ignore this display of Neckerchiefs. What are the technical differences between the superset “scarf” and subset “neckerchief?” Follow the provided Wikipedia links to learn the difference. As for a technical description of the fixtures, they are Chrome Flat Backplate Ball-end Single Prong Slatwall Hooks, a subset of Slatwall Hooks generally.

Billed as an All Wire Guitar Hanger for your closet, and much like an exaggerated S-Hook, I see no reason why this would not function well in a bar-mount retail arrangement. Since the “axes” would hang side-by-side you would still need some as forward facing displays. But imagine how many you could bar-hang as back stock for aficionados to pick out and caress. You could even have your manufacturer change the orientation so as to face forward. In either configuration the simply-constructed, All Wire Hook would be economy incarnate.

This Plastic Single Prong Display Hook continues to make a very modern statement on a translucent Slotwall surface. Extra grooves and guides on the backplate hint at additional uses. Maybe we are not through with this concept yet?

Square-Hole Carded Merchandise

While the Display Hook for Slotwall has been profiled before, only now did I notice its carded merchandise was square-hole punched. I can’y certify that the square-hole better leveled the cards and organized the display. But close-up it was a distinctive touch … part hook and display integration feature, part back tag, part back label. AB Hooks Span Slots 1 Main

Smart display-maker this. The slotted surface is laid out is such a way that Straight-Entry Attached Back Hooks (AB Hooks) can span the gap between slots and create perfectly aligned columns of hooks. These slots are short, but might also be long to provide for infinite adjustment of hook spacing. But if you kept the span between slots to the width of your hooks, you could also offer aligned columns and infinite adjustability on the same display surface. Attached Back Hooks (AB Hooks) mount directly into the openings of this slotted surface. Other Slotwall designs provide longer slots and infinite adjustability of hook position along the opening. Which is best? Only you can decide for you and the specific needs of your wares.  I like the predictable hook position and alignment of short slots, but then by background is Pegboard so I am probably biased. Attached-Back Hocks like these arrive already assembled for quick installation, but come apart to gain all the benefits of straight-entry later.
