On the Launch of This Blog
“This is the kind of spontaneous publicity – your name in print – that makes people. I’m in print! Things are going to start happening to me now.” (Navin R. Johnson aka Steve Martin in the movie “The Jerk“)
On the Goal of These Posts
The Devil is in the details.
This blog is a pictorial inventory of unique or otherwise interesting small-scale fixtures seen across the entire range of retailing. Just as a city-scape is built up of individual bricks, beams and boards, so a store is constructed of many small-scale fixtures that combine to help create the selling-floor environment. Many of these small elements are unsung heroes in creating an effective, functional, appealing merchandising space for goods. Because of the wide-ranging creativity of designers, similar display problems are often solved in unique ways. This site attempts to document these varying solutions … and provide a source of ideas and inspiration for additional new solutions or new applications of existing fixtures.

Please reply as to where I can purchase several of the diagonally mounted hammer hooks. It is a perfect fit for a new customer.
Thank You! (reply to work email address)
Bonnie
Hi Bonnie: I only report on unusual fixtures I see in retail and usually do not know the source or manufacturer. Of the “hammer holder fixtures” documented, wire form manufacturers can whip something up like that for you if you cannot find someone who stocks them. You would need to know how many for a quote, and an idea of what the fixture should look and function like (my photo of fixtures close up might be enough, plus a sample of the hammers you intend to hang.
For a “Guerrilla Marketing” solution you might consider staggering placement of standard Single-prong Display Hooks to achieve a diagonal hammer placement. That would be very cheap. For something similar see …

I love your site and as Bonnie noted I wish you had attributions of manufacturers. Would you at least please! tell us where and at which store you took the picture?
What is great about the site is visual ideas and that is what it’s all about Alfie. I only had a quick look but I didn’t see any Benelton which I always think are great because I love foreign approaches to the same problem and their use of color.
If you want to see some beauty and nothing to do with me, look at jacksondurham.com
they are Event organizers who specialize in the use of floral arrangements.
Thanks for the kind words and suggestions. Sorry that I mostly do not know fixture sources and retailers are reluctant to share feeling it helps their competition react to their fixture initiatives. It is for the same reason that I mostly do not publicly share the location in the post. But sometimes I remember and if you asked privately I would try to point you to the location. Be well.
