I see this style of straight-entry backplate used more and more for signage, dividers, and merchandising aids, far beyond their original use as a Hook Backplate. The style has become an industry standard with all major manufacturers offering interchangeable versions. One disadvantage is that different backplates are needed for different gauge wire. So whether hooking or accessorizing, warehousing just one size may not cover all your bases. That being said, this is an extremely creative use of a slender foamcore sign as category delineator.
