A “Try Me” sticker on an item is not unusual. But this store made sure that all merchandise had a “Try Me’ bottle step-and-repeat positioned at the left all rows of facings. One quickly became accustomed to the offer … and even psychologically expect it … stepped over a few facings, and repeated. A great concept … standard offer in a standard shelf location … and all it cost was a sheet or two of “Try Me” labels. If I try merchandise and like it, I buy it. A very “touchy, feely” approach to selling.” Note that the fixtures are wood “shelf boards” complete with knots, dresseds up a bit with green stain along the edge.
