these really made me sit up and look,compliments to the merchandisers/artist ,how effective at selling though?
Lorette: I have never seen the Vuitton animals personally in the 3-4 Louis Vuitton stores I monitor. But maybe my stores are “slumming it” and the fancy stores are elsewhere. I do know that Louis Vuitton gets major Fashion press coverage of these animals even if they do not receive “ink” in magazines I read. So their purpose is not true in-store point-of-purchase display. Still if I were “he” I would send them on tour, have private “invitation only” events for each store‘s best customers, invite the local mayor and congressmen, serve a bit of champagne, and ring up a few sales. I am sure Vuitton admirers would attend just to pet the animals a few times.
I would certainly sip champagne at LV if they invited me. The only major designer who has ever invited my wife and I to a private champagne-hosted evening has been Prada. We must not be
