Chrome is not the only attractive and durable fixture finish. In fact if you are “Green” in orientation, Chrome can be the worst choice because of the acid baths and toxic metal residues. For many retailers powdercoating offers a more environmentally-friendlyfinish. Choices include solid colors; contrasting hooks; crackle, veined or marbleized patterns (the one above called Silver Vein); all silver, gun-metal or quasi-chrome-like looks; and even images wrapped around the fixture. Shown close up is a marbleized finish, with insets showing solid grey vs. marbleized powdercoat for comparison. Powdercoated approaches chrome plating in life-span and overall durability. The Faceout frontwire caps shown are black and faux-chrome plastic.
