Three-inch Grid creates a make-do bridge storing excess inventory overhead. Though the displays of this well-known, single-location discount department store are very informal and common in appearance, the values bring us back several times a year. Located in south-central New Jersey, it projects the feel of shopping bargain stores in Brooklyn or New York. You might call it “slumming,” but I call it “retail adventuring” and getting a good value from a thrifty old-school merchant.
